4-H DAIRY QUIZ BOWL

 

Quiz Bowl is a jeopardy style competition in which students compete in teams of three to five answering dairy-related questions.  Questions are called out, and each team member has the opportunity to buzz in, answer the question and, if correct, earn points for their teams.  Topics range from nutrition to animal health to milk marketing, and teams get together throughout the week for group practices. 

 

Students join together and begin studying during November or December to compete at the state competition in January.  The winning senior 4-H team earns a spot at the national competition in Louisville, Ky., where more than 25 teams typically compete in November.  The GDYF Board of Directors helps coach teams, and the organization provides funding for the team traveling to Louisville.
