MEET EMMA NEWBERRY Secretary of the 2018 Georgia Dairy Foundation Junior Board
MEET EMMA NEWBERRY
Secretary of the 2018 Georgia Dairy Foundation Junior Board
Emma Newberry, current GDYF Junior Board Secretary and Reporter, will be a junior at Oconee County High School this upcoming school year. This is Emma’s third year on the GDYF Jr. Board and has proven to be a dependable and committed member of the Board.
Outside of GDYF, Emma is also a leader among her peers and currently serves as president for her local FFA high school chapter. She also enjoys helping her classmates on the commercial dairy heifer show team.
Emma’s passion for the dairy industry began six years ago when she showed her first heifer in fifth grade. Today, Emma credits the commercial dairy heifer showing program for teaching her valuable life lessons, how to care properly for livestock care and for the many friendships formed with fellow exhibitors across the state! Thankful for what this life changing program has taught her, Emma believes that being a member of the Junior Board is the best way to share her passion with other dairy youth in Georgia. While serving on the board, she also hopes to further her own knowledge of and become more active in the dairy industry.
After high school, Emma would like to attend the University of Georgia and pursue a degree in Ag Education or Veterinarian Medicine.
